long_bwAlexander Long is a poet, teacher, book reviewer, essayist, and musician. Vigil, his first book of poems, was released in 2006 from the New Issues Press Poetry Series (2006). Co-editor of A Condition of the Spirit: the Life & Work of Larry Levis (Eastern Washington UP, 2004), Long is also the author of a memoir, Noise (RockWay Press, 2007), and a chapbook, Six Prose Poems (Brandenburg Press, 2004). His poems, essays, and book reviews have been published in American Writers (Charles Scribner’s Sons), Blackbird, The Prose Poem: an International Journal, Quarterly West, Third Coast, and elsewhere. Alice Campbell Romano

The Consolation of Geomtery is a Summer Tide Pool 2023 Chapbook Selection. A poem is the face of what we’ve lived. Everything is soaked in all that came before. Alice Campbell Romano lived 13 years in Rome, Italy, turning Italian sceneggiature into American movie scripts. She married a dashing Italian; they raised their family in Rome and in Los Angeles where Alice became President of The Independent Writers of Southern California (IWOSC) and worked with independent film and TV producers as well as for Universal Studios.  Alice is a published and anthologized poet. She is an active member of The Hudson Valley Writers’ Center in the Hudson Highlands where she grew up amid tall oaks that make an appearance in The Consolation of Geometry, her first book.

She has also been awarded the George Kent Prize from Poetry magazine, the Celia B. Wagner Prize from the Poetry Society of America, and the 1995 Award for Poetry from the Society of Midland Authors. She currently teaches at the University of Iowa, where she is pursuing an MFA degree in poetry. Annie ChristainAnnie Christain is an assistant professor of composition and ESOL at SUNY Cobleskill with poems appearing in Seneca Review, Oxford Poetry, The Chariton Review, and The Lifted Brow, among others. She received the grand prize of the 2013 Hart Crane Memorial Poetry Contest, the 2013 Greg Grummer Poetry Award, the 2015 Oakland School of the Arts Enizagam Poetry Award, and the 2015 Neil Shepard Prize in Poetry. Additional honors include her being selected for the Shanghai Swatch Art Peace Hotel Artist Residency and the Arctic Circle Autumn Art and Science Expedition Residency.
